Update: Lady allegedly thrown from Owerri two-storey building by aunt’s boyfriend succumbs to injuries

The Imo State Police Command has confirmed the death of 17-year-old Chiamaka Chukwuokore following an incident along Mbonu Ejike Street, Ikeneagbu, Owerri.

According to an official statement from the command, the victim was hospitalized on November 1, 2026, after allegedly being pushed from a two-storey building. The suspect, identified as 26-year-old Ifeanyi Chukwu Joseph, is reported to be the boyfriend of the victim's aunt.

Medical professionals treated the teenager for injuries sustained during the fall, but she passed away in the hospital on the evening of November 3, 2026.

The suspect remains in police custody as law enforcement officials continue their investigations to establish the full facts of the case.

The Imo State Commissioner of Police, CP Audu Garba Bosso, expressed condolences to the family of the deceased and assured the public that a thorough investigation is underway to ensure justice is served.
