"My children have been begging for a long time to allow them trek on the road" - Tiktoker shares story

A Nigerian TikTok user has shared her children’s excitement after allowing them to trek on the road for the first time, revealing that they had been asking for the experience for a long time.

In a video shared on her page, the mother said her children often asked her to let them walk instead of driving whenever they went out.

She recalled that on one occasion, they even wished her car would break down so they could have the opportunity to trek.

She eventually decided to grant their request, saying the outing reminded her that simple experiences adults often take for granted can mean a lot to children.

Reflecting on her own childhood, she recalled wishing she could join other children she saw walking along the road and would sometimes pretend to trek by arranging household items on a toy train and moving them around the compound.

She said the experience was a reminder that children do not need expensive outings to create happy childhood memories.
