Man arrested over alleged s3xual assault of 22-year-old man in Ogun

The Ogun State Community, Social Orientation and Safety Corps, codenamed So-Safe Corps, has arrested a 29-year-old man, identified as Salaudeen Toheeb, over the alleged s3xual assault of a 22-year-old woman, Boluwatife, who was reportedly found in his company around Olohunda, Ota.

 

The State Commander of So-Safe Corps, Commander (Dr.) Soji Ganzallo, disclosed this in a statement issued by the Director of Information and Public Relations, ACC Adegunwa Adegbuyi, on Sunday, October 4, 2026. 

 

According to the statement, the suspect was arrested on October 3, following information received by the Divisional Officer of Alagbon Division, SC Ibrahim Badru at about 4pm.

 

“In line with standard protocol, the Divisional Officer after receiving the information that Salaudeen had been found with the woman, who resides around Baba Oyinbo, Owode-Yewa who was reportedly being sought by her family; informed his Area Commander, ACC Akeem Saka, Owode-Yewa Area Command, who gave the directive for both the alleged suspect and victim be brought in for questioning,” the statement read. 

 

"Upon receiving the information, officers of the Corps proceeded to the location and arrested the suspect.

 

"During preliminary interrogation, Salaudeen stated that he had seen the woman roaming around the previous evening while riding his motorcycle.

 

"He said he approached her and engaged her in conversation, during which she allegedly told him that she was distressed and did not know where to go.

 

"The suspect said he subsequently took her to his residence and bought her food. 

 

"According to the preliminary account, after she had eaten, he allegedly attempted to have s3xual intercourse with her, but she refused.

 

"He was further alleged to have forced himself on her in the early hours of the following day.

 

"The report stated that the suspect and the woman later went out to charge his mobile phone, during which some people who recognised the woman contacted her father and informed him of her whereabouts which led to the arrest of the suspect.

 

"However, the woman's father requested that the case be transferred to Owode-Yewa Divisional Headquarters for further investigation.

 

"He informed the Divisional Officer that his daughter had left home with five mobile phones and approximately N17,000, which he wanted investigated alongside the circumstances surrounding her disappearance.

 

“The case was eventually handed over to the Nigeria Police Force, Owode-Yewa Divisional Headquarters for further investigation and appropriate action.”

 

The State Commander reiterated the Corps' commitment to protecting lives and property and urged members of the public to promptly report cases involving missing persons, suspected abuse, sexual offences and other criminal activities to the appropriate security authorities.

 

The suspect remains subject to further investigation, while all allegations will be properly established through due process.
