One arrested as suspected thugs attack Peter Obi's convoy in Calabar (videos)

Suspected thugs have attacked the convoy of the presidential candidate of the Nigeria Democratic Congress (NDC), Peter Obi, in Calabar, the Cross River State capital.

Esther Umoh, a media aide to Obi disclosed this in a post on Wednesday, November 4, 2026.

"Thugs are trying to attack our convoy," she wrote.

She added that one of their supporters was hit by stray bullet. 

It was gathered that the NDC flag bearer, his wife, Margaret, and his running mate, Rabiu Kwankwaso, are in Calabar for a town hall meeting.

The spokesperson for the Cross River State Police Command, Eitokpah Akata, who confirmed the incident said a suspect, Victor Yellow Duke, 27, was arrested following the attack.
