A man has questioned the practice of pouring Fanta into rivers as a spiritual offering, describing it as illogical because the drink is a man-made product.
In a video shared online, he expressed surprise at seeing people pour the soft drink into rivers while making prayers to water deities.
He argued that Fanta consists mainly of water, sugar, saccharine and flavouring, and questioned why people would use a manufactured drink as a spiritual offering when they could simply pour sugar into the water if they were seeking sweetness in their lives.
The man also described the practice as an outdated tradition that people should begin to question rather than follow without examining its meaning.
He encouraged people to think critically about spiritual practices and said he believed the growing willingness to question long-held beliefs was a positive development.
He ended by asking why anyone would assume that water deities required Fanta as an offering, insisting that pouring the drink into a river while praying made no sense to him.
