Nursing mother alarmed as doctor and pharmacist argue over baby’s medicine

A nursing mother has raised concerns on social media after a doctor and a pharmacist openly disagreed over a medication prescribed for her six-month-old baby.

In a viral video, the mother explained that she initially took her infant to the hospital for a routine medical checkup. Following the examination, the physician issued a prescription and directed her to the hospital pharmacy. However, upon reviewing the slip, the pharmacist refused to dispense the medication, stating it was unsafe for a baby, and advised her to consult the doctor again.

When the mother returned to the physician, the doctor reportedly doubled down on the prescription and ordered her back to the pharmacy. Confused by the conflicting professional advice, the mother took a picture of the pharmacy slip and sent it to a friend, who reacted with shock and questioned how such a drug could be prescribed for an infant.

‘’Imagine if the pharmacist did not know what he was doing?'' the mother wrote

She called on hospitals to do better when employing doctors.
