A frustrated resident has taken to social media to appeal to the Lagos State Commissioner for the Environment and Water Resources, Tokunbo Wahab, over persistent noise pollution from a church on his street.
Posting on his X handle, the resident shared video evidence of the church holding a loud praise session at around 1:31 AM, blasting music into the neighborhood through external megaphones.
‘’Dear @tokunbo_wahab, It's 1:31am and I can't sleep. They've started again. he wrote
I'm trying not to put the address out for Security reasons but I can provide necessary details in a chat, call or email when you give me a go ahead. It's getting louder and I think it's deliberate.''
Reacting swiftly to the public outcry, Commissioner Wahab directed the General Manager of the Lagos State Environmental Protection Agency (LASEPA) to take immediate action against the facility. This intervention follows an ongoing enforcement drive by the state government, which has recently sealed multiple religious centers and commercial properties for violating environmental noise limits.
