A resident of Millennium City in Kaduna State, identified as Ahmad Abubakar Zakka, has made a public appeal for assistance following his abduction alongside his family. Zakka, his wife, and their six-month-old daughter were taken from their residence at Alrahus Estate during an overnight raid.
Following the incident, a video clip circulated on social media platforms showing the family in captivity. In the footage, Zakka confirmed the identity of his family members and stated that their abductors are demanding a ransom of ₦300 million to secure their safe release.
During the broadcast, Zakka indicated that his right hand had become severely swollen and numb due to the restrictive manner in which he was bound. He appealed directly to relatives, friends, and the general public for urgent intervention, citing concerns over potential permanent medical complications or long-term injury if he does not receive immediate medical attention.
“Please, I’m seeking help from my relatives and friends because of how tightly they tied my hand. See how my hand has become. Please help me, I don’t want my hand to be cut off,” he said.
The security situation has drawn widespread reactions from prominent public figures. Former Vice President Atiku Abubakar and local stakeholders have publicly urged security forces to intensify their operations in Chikun Local Government Area to ensure the safe rescue of the family and other residents affected by recent security challenges.
