Two suspected ISWAP logistics suppliers arrested at checkpoint in Borno

Troops of 18 Battalion, Nigerian Army, have arrested two suspected Islamic State West Africa Province (ISWAP) logistics suppliers at the main entrance of the battalion headquarters in Molai, Jere Local Government Area of Borno State.

Security sources said the suspects were apprehended at about 3:30 p.m. on October 25, 2026, during a security check at the military installation.

Preliminary investigations revealed that the suspects were allegedly on their way to a terrorist transit point in Ajiri when they were intercepted by the troops.

During the operation, the troops recovered one mobile phone, a bicycle and a quantity of maize flour from the suspects.

The suspects and recovered items are currently in military custody for further investigation and necessary action.

According to security analyst Zagazola Makam, the arrest forms part of ongoing security operations by troops of the Nigerian Army to disrupt terrorist logistics networks and prevent the movement of supplies to insurgent groups operating in the North-East.
