Gospel artiste Laolu Gbenjo has passionately appealed to the family of the late singer Toluwanisings to resolve their internal conflicts and prevent his passing from turning into another public spectacle.
Speaking at a Night of Tributes held last night, Gbenjo expressed concern over the rising tension and growing drama, warning against a repeat of the long-drawn controversy that followed the death of singer Mohbad, who remains unburied due to family disputes.
‘’Toluwani loved God with all his heart. He was a pure man, Don't turn Toluwani to Mohbad. Whoever is putting that thing together, that madness must stop. If you don't have a job, go and get yourself a job. Toluwani, we love you but Jesus loves you more.”
The appeal comes as Toluwanisings' funeral plans remain stalled due to a brewing standoff between his paternal family and his widow, Elizabeth. The family strongly insists that the singer be buried at the house he built before his demise, but his widow is reportedly against the idea, preferring a cemetery burial instead. Furthermore, an uncle of the late singer has declared that the burial will not proceed until an autopsy is conducted to ascertain the true cause of his death.
Toluwanisings tragically passed away on October 14, 2026, after suddenly slumping. His personal assistant later alleged that they desperately rushed him to seven or eight hospitals in a race against time, but failed to secure the necessary emergency medical attention
