Former Nigerian football star Emmanuel Emenike has publicly condemned the Imo State Police Command and the state waste management agency after officials allegedly invaded his hospital in Owerri, assaulted staff and patients, and detained two employees.
In a series of posts shared online, Emenike detailed two separate incidents at his medical facility. He alleged that on September 25, the DPO of Owerri Urban Division and officers from the Oji Police Station first assaulted his staff. The former Super Eagles striker stated that a second raid occurred on Wednesday, October 21, involving both police and waste management officials who aggressively arrested and hauled away the hospital’s administrator and cashier.
Expressing his frustration, Emenike lamented that after representing Nigeria on the international stage and returning home to invest his hard-earned resources, he is being targeted and harassed.

Emenike is demanding an immediate investigation by the Imo State Government, the Nigeria Police Force, and relevant oversight authorities. He called for the unconditional release of his detained staff—who he states were brutalized at the Oji Police Station—the preservation of CCTV footage as evidence, and medical care for those injured during the raids.
As of publication, neither the Imo State Police Command nor the state waste management agency has issued an official reaction to the allegations. However, Emenike has shared video footage online showing security agents and government officials arresting his staff.

Tell us the offence of your hospital staff. Only a baby will not question this your half story. Representing Nigeria for which you were handsomely paid doesn't make you or your staff above the law.
