The National Secretary of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Senator Ajibola Basiru, has reacted to the request by African Action Congress (AAC) presidential candidate Omoyele Sowore to launch his campaign in the Presidential Villa.
Sowore had published a letter addressed to the Presidency seeking permission to use Aso Rock for the launch of his presidential campaign council. In the correspondence, he also asked that food and drinks be provided for his guests during the event.
Speaking on Channels Television’s Politics Today, Senator Basiru dismissed the development, describing Sowore's plan as a political comedy while characterizing him as a "skit maker" who understands that such a request will not be granted.
‘’Sowore is a skit maker. He knows that will not happen. Let him struggle to even get a seat in the House of Assembly as a political party and then people will begin to take him serious. Even rejected ballot papers have more votes than his party in the 2023 election. So, that shows that rejected ballot papers are more popular than his party.
He is just making skit''
