Nigerian social media commentator Solomon Buchi has criticised Prophet Israel after a video surfaced showing the cleric's second wife being introduced to his congregation.
In the viral video, the prophet's first wife announced that they were living in a polygynous marriage before introducing his second wife, Minister Shekayla, whom she described as her “sister in marriage.”
Addressing the congregation, Shekayla said their marriage arrangement was God's will and maintained that she had not been treated unfairly.
“It is amazing to know that this is the will of God and to live it,” she said.
Reacting to the video, Solomon Buchi strongly disagreed with the claim, arguing that the arrangement contradicts biblical teachings on marriage.
“That is not the will of God! You satanic ministers should be chased out of God's house,” he said.
Buchi also questioned why members of the congregation applauded the announcement, insisting that Christian leaders should not place personal revelations above scripture.
He referenced New Testament teachings on marriage and the biblical requirement for church elders to be husbands of one wife.
“You guys are beginning to use the pulpit to live out your fantasies,” he stated.
Buchi further accused some religious leaders of using claims of divine revelation to justify their personal choices, insisting that such practices should be challenged rather than accepted without question.
