NAFDAC discovers Lagos residential building where empty bottles of assorted alcoholic beverages are stored for suspected use in counterfeiting popular brands

NAFDAC’s Investigation & Enforcement Directorate has uncovered a residential building at 322B Meiran Road, Agbado Oke Odo, Lagos, where empty bottles of assorted alcoholic beverages are being stored for suspected use in counterfeiting popular brands. 

Confirming the arrest, NAFDAC official said over 100 sacks of empty bottles were discovered and destroyed to prevent their reuse in the production of counterfeit alcoholic drinks.

In recent times, the agency has uncovered a number of factories where substandard drinks and alcoholic beverages are being produced.
