“I broke up with Hakeem Effect because he said I didn't need a husband and wanted me to remain his side chick” — Ex-staff alleges

A former employee of popular Nollywood makeup artist Hakeem Effect has opened up about their alleged romantic relationship and why it ended.

Speaking during an interview with Biola Bayo on Talk to B, Adedoja revealed that her cousin introduced her to Hakeem because of her hardworking nature.

She explained that they began working together in Port Harcourt before travelling to Enugu and Abia for other jobs, during which they developed feelings for each other.

According to her, Hakeem admired her dedication to work and often called her his treasure.

However, she claimed their relationship became strained when she expressed her desire to get married and start a family.

“What caused our fight was when I felt like I wanted to settle down and marry. Hakeem declined that he doesn't want me to settle down,” she said.

She alleged that Hakeem told her she was hardworking and independent like a man and therefore did not need a husband.

The woman described his position as selfish, claiming he wanted her to remain in a relationship with him while he continued living with his wife and children.

Asked whether this led to their separation, she replied, “Yes, because he doesn't want me to marry and have my own family.”
