A resident of Abrepo Junction in the Ashanti Region, Ghana, is demanding GH¢450,000 in compensation from his legally wedded wife after a DNA test reportedly revealed that their two year old son is not his biological child.
According to him, he married Vivian after she became pregnant, a situation that led to him being sanctioned by his church, the Church of Pentecost, for engaging in premarital intimacy..
Speaking on Oyarepa Afutuo, a television programme on October 21, 2026, Aikins disclosed that his marriage has been troubled by persistent misunderstandings and allegations of infidelity.
He alleged that despite their marriage, his wife continued communicating with her former boyfriend, a development that raised suspicions and created tension between them.
Aikins further claimed that their marital problems worsened after his mother-in-law allegedly advised Vivian to avoid becoming pregnant again for him.
According to him, his wife's mother instructed her to protect herself against another pregnancy, a situation he claimed negatively affected their intimacy.
He alleged that following the advice, Vivian began denying him intimacy, leading to frequent disagreements.
The situation reportedly escalated when Vivian sought assistance from her uncle following one of their marital disputes.
Aikins claimed that his wife and her family subsequently accused him of physically assaulting her and failing to to provide adequate financial support for their child.
He said the allegations resulted in his being reported to the Domestic Violence and Victim Support Unit (DOVVSU) of the Ghana police service.
Frustrated by the accusations, Aikins said he demanded a DNA test to establish whether he was the biological father of the child.
According to him, the test, which was conducted through the involvement of the police, confirmed that the boy was not his biological son.
The revelation reportedly left him devastated considering the financial and emotional commitments he had made throughout the marriage.
Aikins explained that he had spent approximately GH¢450,000 on their wedding ceremony and had also provided financial support for the child's upbringing, believing he was the biological father.
He is therefore demanding GH¢450,000 in compensation from Vivian for the wedding expenses and money spent raising the child.
Expressing his frustration during the programmed, Aikins maintained that he deserved compensation for the financial sacrifices he made based on his belief that the child was his.
“I came here because I need my compensation of GH¢450,000 from her because I have really spent on her and the child and the wedding as well,” he added.
