The arrests were made in operations across Nasarawa State between August and October, 2026.
The most recent arrest is that of 23-year-old Aisha Mohammed, a resident of Bwari in the FCT, who was apprehended in Keffi with 202 rounds of 7.62mm ammunition and three empty magazines.
The Governor said three other suspected couriers — 40-year-old Hassan Sani, 41-year-old Abdulkadir Idrissa, and 70-year-old Salihu Garba, alias Nabayi — were also arrested between August and September. A total of 777 rounds of ammunition, comprising 678 rounds of 7.62mm and 99 rounds of 7.5mm, were recovered from them along with other items.
In a separate operation in August, operatives intercepted another courier, Ismail Lawalli, a native of Zamfara State, along the Keffi-Abuja highway with 1,262 rounds of assorted ammunition, the largest single recovery in the period.
