Kenneth Okonkwo, the spokesperson for African Democratic Congress (ADC) presidential candidate Atiku Abubakar, has asserted that President Bola Tinubu should step down from office due to health concerns, claiming he is unfit to lead.
President Tinubu had previously stated that he would delegate extensive campaign travel to his council members to prioritize governance and economic management, while assuring the public that he would continue direct communication channels with Nigerians.
Reacting to the development via a post on X, Okonkwo contended that the governing party's arrangements were tacit acknowledgments of the president's limitations.
"The launch of the APC Presidential Campaign Council has finally shown that Tinubu is not physically able to handle the difficult work of a presidential campaign," Okonkwo wrote.
"Gov Hope Uzodinma suggested that Tinubu will remain in his position and focus on managing the country while they keep working on their campaign... I agree that the President should leave his position as President because he is not well, so that Nigeria can be led by a healthy and suitable leader."
Okonkwo urged the electorate to reject the administration in the upcoming 2027 general elections, positioning Atiku Abubakar as a viable alternative capable of addressing the nation's economic challenges.
