INEC introduces QR codes to help Lagos voters locate PVC collection centres

The Independent National Electoral Commission in Lagos State has introduced QR codes to help eligible voters locate Permanent Voter Card collection centres ahead of the 2027 general elections.

The commission said voters could access and scan the codes through its official website and social media platforms to identify designated collection locations.

Speaking at a press conference at INEC’s Lagos headquarters, Resident Electoral Commissioner Professor Ayobami Salami urged eligible voters to collect their PVCs and verify their registration details. He also advised voters to obtain election-related information from official sources and stressed the importance of participation in the electoral process.

INEC said preparations were continuing in other areas, including the procurement and testing of voter accreditation devices, improvements to result transmission systems, logistics planning, and the recruitment and training of election personnel. The commission said the QR codes formed part of efforts to make voter information more accessible and encourage eligible residents to collect their cards before election day.
