Woman allegedly beats her brother's daughter to death over N500 in Benue

Police have arrested a woman for allegedly beating her brother's child to d3ath in Benue State.

The incident occurred in Jato-Aka in Kwande Local Government Area of the state on Sunday, October 5, 2026.

According to Facebook user, John Tyokoso, the woman accused her brother's children of stealing N500 and subjected them to severe corporal punishment.

She allegedly tied up the female child, placed her under the hot sun, applied pepper to her eyes, anvs, v@gina and armpit and beat her until the girl couldn't bear the pain and d!ed.

It was further gathered that upon realizing that the girl had d!ed, the woman quickly moved the body inside a room and locked the door.

Neighbours got wind of the incident and confronted her but she denied the assault, claiming that the rope found at the scene belonged to a loose goat.

The neighbours forced the door open and found the girl's body on the ground.

"What a wicked world. Uwu Aondo. Dear JATO-AKA people of Kwande, Benue State, say No to "ka kwagh wam ga, ka mba via, tsombo u via shi ka hen ya wam ga" and let's fix things," he wrote.

"It is alleged that a woman, whose name is undisclosed, known to be the daughter of Iorember around Baaki close to Hope Academy Nursery, Primary and Secondary School, Jato-Aka, yesterday being 5th October 2026, accused her brother's children of stealing her N500.

"However, instead of carefully investigating and interrogating the children, she rather applied corporal punishment.

"After serious beating, she tied up the female one and put her under the hot sun, applying pepper to her eyes, anus, vagina and armpit while under the sun, on top of the beating. She kept applying the pepper on the little child with the beating till she couldn't survive the agony and d!ed.

"Surprisingly, after she discovered that the little girl had d!ed, she swiftly moved her body inside the room, locked the door and untied her, dropping the rope outside as if nothing happened.

"When suspected, she denied it and even claimed that the rope belongs to the loosed goat, but as he insisted, through the help of others who got wind of the incident, they insisted and forcefully opened the door and there lay the d3ad girl on the ground, while the male one survived with a fractured hand

"More painfully, their grandma was around and couldn't stop her daughter from inflicting the pain, rather she defended her daughter and even had the audacity to ask the eyewitnesses if it is the first time someone will beat their child to d3ath.

"Thanks to the swift response of the Nigeria Police Force, Jato-Aka, who intervened and arrested her.

“This is pure wickedness and evil. This issue must not die like that, please. Haba.”
