The videos were leaked without my consent - Actress Nana Akua Addo reacts to viral domestic v!olence videos, says police have commenced investigation into the ass@ult

Ghanaian actress, Nana Akua Addo, says the heartbreaking videos showing her battered face as well as videos of her children being ass@ulted by her husband were leaked without her consent.

 

In a statement released, Nana who spoke via her lawyers, said the leaked videos are a deep violation of her privacy. She appealed to the public to desist from publishing the videos, particularly the one with her children in it.

 

Nana's lawyers said the matter is currently being investigated by the police and she is certain that the authorities will stand against domestic v!iolence.

 

The lawyers stated that Nana would speak on the matter in due time.

  ‘’1. We are a firm of barristers and solicitors based in Accra. We write to you on the instructions of our client, Rosemond Akua Adobea a.k.a Nana Akua Addo.

2. Our attention has been drawn to several harrowing videos circulating on social media, showing our client and her children embroiled in a domestic dispute.

3. These videos were leaked without our client's knowledge and consent and are a deep violation of her privacy and that of her children who are all minors.

4. We humbly request that all media houses refrain from publishing and sharing the videos especially the ones showing the abuse of a minor. This is a delicate matter involving young children and as such we are counting on your responsible journalism to safeguard the mental wellbeing of the victims of this unfortunate turn of events who are already dealing with enough trauma.

5. Please note that the matter is currently sub judice and in the hands of the appropriate authorities.

6. We are grateful for the timely intervention and responsiveness of Ghana Police and are confident in the competence of our court systems to stand up against domestic violence in our society.

7. At the appropriate time our client will address all pertinent issues, in the meantime we ask that the media and the general public respect the privacy of the family as they deal with this difficult situation.
