Singer Timi Dakolo has dismissed claims that his recent call for Nigerians to stop making enemies because of politics had a political undertone.
On Thursday, Timi took to his X handle to urge Nigerians not to ruin personal relationships over political disputes. He argued that while everyday supporters lose valuable bonds fighting for politicians, the leaders themselves often remain close friends behind the scenes.
He was, however, slammed by online users who alleged that he made the comment because he supports the ruling party, APC, and had secured singing gigs for the 2027 election campaign.

Responding to the online backlash, Timi released a video clarifying that he is not the enemy. He recalled his shock at witnessing politicians—who openly attack each other in public—acting cordially behind closed doors, hugging, sharing pleasantries, and gisting.
According to him, these politicians deliberately divide the masses, manipulating Nigerians into fighting one another instead of uniting against bad governance.
Timi concluded by emphasizing that he remains completely independent and is not affiliated with any political party.

If anybody want to make enemy, let it be but while you are doing that some are making money. 99% of people are not helped by any politician but most times by friends of different tribes from the streets.
