Two women have been charged over a fatal assault on a fellow thigh vendor following an alleged dispute over a client in Bulawayo, Zimbabwe.
Nokukhanya Ncube and Tadiwanashe Chipindu appeared before Bulawayo Provincial Resident Magistrate Themba Chimiso on Wednesday, October 14, and were remanded in custody until October 22. According to B-Metro, prosecutor Josiphine Gurazhira alleged that the confrontation began after Ncube accused the woman of taking one of her clients.
The prosecution said Ncube and Chipindu attacked the woman with bricks, causing a serious head injury that left her unconscious. Others at the scene reportedly tried to assist her while an ambulance was called. She died while being transported to Mpilo Central Hospital.
Investigators reportedly recovered a brick from Ncube that they believe was used during the alleged assault. The allegations against both defendants remain before the court for determination.
