Jennifer Lopez, director Robert Zemeckis and Netflix have denied reports of a disagreement over their upcoming thriller, The Last Mrs. Parrish.
In a joint statement to TMZ, they rejected claims that Lopez and Zemeckis had conflicting visions for the film or were struggling to work together during post-production. “As we have said to Page Six, this reporting is categorically false. Any suggestion that the filmmakers are not working in unison is without merit,” the statement read.
The response followed a Page Six report alleging that Lopez was attempting to take greater control of the editing process after disappointing test screenings. The outlet cited unnamed sources who claimed that the actress and the Forrest Gump director disagreed about the project’s direction. Its report drew comparisons with the dispute involving Blake Lively and Justin Baldoni over It Ends With Us.
One source quoted by Page Six alleged that Lopez had become concerned about audience reactions and had been spending time in the editing room. Netflix disputed that account, telling TMZ that the film had performed well in test screenings, particularly among fans. Sources speaking to TMZ also described Lopez and Zemeckis as collaborators who were enjoying their work together on post-production.
Lopez is both a producer and a lead actor on The Last Mrs. Parrish, giving her a role in the project beyond her on-screen performance. The report comes after her 2026 romantic comedy Office Romance reached the top of Netflix’s global charts upon release.
