Ogun police takes action on officers caught on tape assaulting man

The Commissioner of Police, Ogun State Command, CP Bode Ojajuni, has ordered immediate action on the officers caught in this viral video ass@ulting a man and trying to handcuff him.

According to a video that has gone viral, the officers could be seen holding the young man down while forcefully trying to handcuff him.

Two ladies, while narrating what transpired, alleged that the officers accused the young man of wearing shorts made from a police uniform. The ladies said the residents of their area immediately rallied round to defend the accused. According to them, the police did not find anything incriminating on him nor was he found committing any crime, and so they could not arrest him. The ladies said the officers shamefully left the man and their area.

Reacting to the incident, the command's spokesperson, DSP Babaseyi Oluseyi, said the officers involved have been identified, and that the police Commissioner has ordered immediate action against them in line with established procedures. 

Oluseyi said the Command remains committed to accountability, professional discipline and the highest standards of policing. 

He stated that further updates will be communicated as developments warrant.
