Nursing student Joy Ezeugwu, who was placed on indefinite suspension by Ezzy College of Nursing in Enugu State after sharing a viral video exposing poor conditions at Uwani General Hospital, has resumed at a new school.
She resumed earlier this week and shared a video online.
"First day at school, guys," she said happily.
Earlier this year, Ezeugwu posted a video revealing the deplorable state of affairs at Uwani General Hospital (Uwani Health Centre), including a lack of electricity, running water, oxygen, baby monitoring equipment, and mosquito infestation.
After the video went viral, Ezeugwu was detained by police following a petition filed by her school's administrator.
She was arrested by police operatives from the Force Criminal Investigation Department (FCID) Annex in Enugu on May 4, 2026, but was later released after she met her bail conditions.
Alex Onyia, CEO of Educare, intervened and helped Ezeugwu with transferring to a new institution to continue her studies.
He announced yesterday, October 13, that she has now resumed her studies elsewhere.
