A Nigerian lawyer has released a guide on how men should legally protect themselves if a female partner unexpectedly passes out or dies in their home.
The video guide surfaces following a string of high-profile incidents involving women dying under mysterious circumstances while visiting their lovers.
The lawyer warns men never to flee, as running away makes them look guilty. Instead, he outlines a strict three-step protocol: first, rush the woman to the hospital to see if she can be saved or to confirm her status; second, call a lawyer immediately if she is declared dead; and third, report the matter to the police with legal representation.
‘’You must not conclude that they are de@d. Some women have medical conditions that make them pass out during and after sexu@l intercourse. It is called coital syncope or more precisely post coital vasovagal syncope. Medical practitioners will confirm whether they are de@d'' he said
He further stated that if doctors confirm that the lady has indeed passed away, the individual must contact a qualified lawyer right away before speaking to anyone else. Finally, he said the matter must be formally reported to the police.
‘’Go and report yourself to the police station immediately. Don't run away. Go to the police station immediately. Go and make a statement. Once you do that, police officers will commence their own investigation. The fact that a lady d!ed in your house does not mean you are automatically guilty. The presumption in law is still in your favour. You are innocent until contrary is proven.
Once the investigation is commenced, an autopsy will be conducted as to determine the real cause of their de@th.
Upon the conclusion of the autopsy, your legal liability will be determined as to whether you are guilty of mu#der to not. If you are very certain that you did not k!ll them or have any hand in their cause of de@th, trust me, you will be vindicated.''
He concluded by stating that any man who finds himself involved in such a situation must remember he would be held in prison custody while the police investigates.
