Comedian Klinton Cod has slammed singer Timi Dakolo, who in a post shared on X appealed to Nigerians not to make enemies among themselves because of politicians.
As the 2027 election draws nearer, political debates will naturally intensify, with Nigerians comparing the scorecard of the government of the day and asking whether to vote for them or consider other presidential candidates. These debates tend to pit Nigerians against each other.
Timi in a post shared on X on Thursday, October 15, said people should desist from making enemies because of politicians. He said politicians would jump ship politically and still remain friends, despite their different views on politics and governance.
Reacting via a video shared, Klinton Cod, said if only curses worked, he would have prayed for leprosy to afflict the hands Timi used in typing his post. He argued that Nigerians are fighting against the very same government and its agents destroying their lives via bad governance, and Timi is asking them to be civil about it. He said Timi's family live abroad, and so he doesn't understand the severity of the bad governance Nigerians are faced with every day.
He recounted how his mum passed away due to a blood clot in 2021 in Warri, Delta State. According to him, his mum was rushed to the first hospital, and was turned back because no doctor was around to see her. He said his mum died while she was being rushed to the next hospital. He recounted how Anthony Joshua and his friends also had an accident along the Lagos-Ibadan expressway, and no ambulance was in sight to ferry them to the nearest hospital for treatment.
He played a video of former Cross River State Governor, Donald Duke, saying that in the last budget, the Federal Government of Nigeria released a paltry N36 million to the Federal Ministry of Health from a budget of almost N300 billion.
Klintcod argued that Nigerians are not fighting against politicians but against the bad governance affecting their lives on a daily basis.
He said ;
‘’Nigerians are currently at ‘war’. Timi Dakolo, what do you mean by Nigerians do not make enemies because of politics. Listen, anyone who is against the people supporting people against me or me, let them die first. This is the mindset Nigerians must have. Timi Dakolo, your kids are abroad, enjoying the basic amenities abroad. I don't blame you because during this campaign season, this is when you will shine, they will call you to sing the national anthem so you can get money to send to your kids abroads. Your kids are enjoying education, enjoying healthcare, infrastructure, electricity, security…to me, those kind of people enjoying the benefits of places where things work and are supporting the ones who are depriving things of working in your country, you are worse than the devil''
