There was commotion in a community in a South Eastern state in Nigeria when a woman accused of committing evil and forced to take an oath went ahead to ask that the curses go back to those accusing her if she's innocent.
Doing as they said, the woman raised the kolanut and said she belongs to no coven and she has never done any evil to anyone.
She added that if she is guilty as they claim, let her not get what she prays for.
She began: "If I have ever even considered anyone evil, if I have even thought about it, if I have gone anywhere to work against anyone, or if I have actually taken action to do evil to anyone, whatever I'm looking for in this land, don't let me see it."
"Iseee," the men said in agreement.
However, when she began saying that if she is innocent of the accusations, the curses should go back to her husband's family, the people present panicked and tried to stop her from going further.
"However, if I didn't do it, as many as they are accusing me..." she continued.
And the men screamed "mba" (no).
Some women there objected and told her to go ahead with the back-to-sender part of the oath.
"Kwuo ya (say it)," her supporters urged.
The video has sparked reactions and started a conversation about the treatment of women in Nigeria.
