Businesswoman previously locked up for expressing concern about a bread brand raises alarm about another brand

Love Dooshima, the businesswoman who was detained in a cell for raising concerns over the safety of a loaf of bread that remained fresh for nearly two months, has raised alarm about another brand.

Love Dooshima said she has stopped selling breads in her shop due to lack of trust in its safety for consumers.

However, she added that there is a bread brand she recently bought that had a terrible smell. She explained that she complained to the manufacturers and they claimed it might be the particular batch and gave her another.

However, she said it was still bad and the replacement she got after that one was also almost as bad.

She added that a mother has now reached out to her to complain about the same brand of bread.

Dooshima played a voice note from the mother, complaining about the terrible smell of the bread and how her children and husband could not stand it.

Dooshima explained that she intentionally did not show the brand of the bread because the last time she questioned a brand over the safety of their bread, she was locked up. She further alleged that the Chairman, Bakers' Association of Nigeria took sides with the owner of the bakery when they were at the police station and they left her to be detained over the previous incident.

Dooshima asked who is protecting the rights of consumers since manufacturers can't be trusted to do the right thing when it comes to food safety.

She cautioned those producing subpar products for consumers that everything goes around and their loved ones might end up consuming toxic products if care is not taken.
