“Ask them why they are not going for their age mates” — Mother warns daughter about older men

A mother has advised her daughter to be careful of older men who may approach her as she gets older, warning that some could be looking for younger women they can control.

In a video, the mother told her daughter to question why a significantly older man would choose to pursue someone much younger instead of women his age.

She warned that some men could take advantage of a younger woman’s lack of experience, intimidate her and eventually abandon her after getting her pregnant.

The mother also urged parents to create an environment where their children can openly discuss uncomfortable experiences, particularly if an adult touches or harasses them.

She recalled an incident where a grown man allegedly asked for her daughter’s number after she introduced her as her child at a birthday party.

She further warned young girls not to be swayed by older men who offer them expensive gifts, phones or other things their parents may not be able to provide.

The mother also encouraged parents to believe their children when they report inappropriate behaviour by adults, rather than dismissing their concerns.
