A female Lagos motorist has raised the alarm over worsening insecurity in the Lekki axis of Lagos State after falling victim to traffic robbers.
The victim, driving a Mercedes-Benz around 9:00 PM, was ambushed by a three-man gang of well-dressed criminals targeting motorists stuck in gridlock. The robbers forcefully ripped off a windshield chrome strip from her vehicle, a component she valued at ₦300,000.
According to her account, the criminals did not stop there. They proceeded to rob motorists trapped in the vehicles behind her, forcefully carting away mobile phones and other valuable personal belongings.
She said this incident marks the second time she has been targeted by traffic thieves in the area. She revealed that criminals had previously targeted her, stealing the logo from her Mercedes-Benz G-Wagon in a similar manner.
Warning fellow commuters to remain vigilant, she urged drivers to exercise extreme caution and advised against stopping for strangers staging emergencies or pretending to ask for assistance on the road.

Honestly with the whole insecurity issues, employers should change the closing hours from 5pm to like 3:30pm. When you consider the traffic issue, you can only imagine how a lot of people will be on the road late at night. I wish employers will just consider this. This has been an incessant incident on Lekki expressway, Lagos State government should be proactive and do the needful by providing security along the hot spots.
