Singer Diddy's prison release date changed again

Sean "Diddy" Combs' projected federal prison release date has moved up again.

According to Federal Bureau of Prisons records, Diddy is now scheduled to leave FCI Fort Dix on Jan. 21, 2028, moving his release closer to the start of 2028.

Prior to that, Combs’ release date was moved up by several weeks from Feb. 23, 2028, to Jan. 24, 2028, despite the rapper’s July problem with another inmate and subsequent move to solitary confinement.

Earlier this month, however, the date appeared to have been pushed back to Feb. 20, 2028. His original release date was set for June 2028.

According to TMZ, the Grammy winner was involved in an altercation over the summer, taking “matters into his own hands” after being insulted.

Per multiple sources for the outlet, the two prisoners pushed each other during the alleged encounter.

The “Mo Money Mo Problems” rapper was said by an insider to have “held his own” during the incident, after which prison staff separated them.

Combs was subsequently placed in solitary confinement and later released, TMZ reported in August.

At the time, the Federal Bureau of Prisons told Page Six in a statement, “For privacy, safety, and security reasons, we do not release information regarding the conditions of confinement for any inmate, including housing assignments, nor do we discuss whether a particular inmate is the subject of allegations, investigations, or sanctions.”

Combs was convicted in July 2025, but found not guilty on two counts of sex trafficking by force, fraud, or coercion and on racketeering conspiracy.

The “Bad Boy For Life” hitmaker was transferred from the Metropolitan Detention Center in Brooklyn, New York, to Fort Dix in New Jersey after being sentenced to 50 months in prison.
