Seven Nigerian sisters whose parents, were mocked for having only girls, have given their father a befitting burial.
One of the sisters, Peace, took to Facebook to celebrate the successful burial, reiterating that daughters are just as capable of honouring their parents as sons.
She urged parents who have only daughters to cherish and and value them, noting that female children are also a blessing.
According to Peace, she and her sisters purchased two cows and one pig for the funeral ceremony.
“We may be only girls, but we showed up for our father!,” she wrote.
"Despite being daughters, we came together, gave Daddy a befitting burial and made sure everything was a success,” she wrote.
"Dear parents, especially those blessed with only girls, please raise them well. Don’t ever make them feel they are not enough because they are not boys. With God’s grace, those same girls can become your greatest pride, joy and support.
"My parents were mocked for having only girls but today the same people are praising us cox my parents were never affected with what they heard then.
“A daughter is never a lesser blessing. We are living proof! 2 cows, I pig for umuada, Nwanyibuife.”
