A woman who is pregnant at 50 has shared what it feels like going through a geriatric pregnancy.
The woman, known on Facebook as Ekra Unfiltered, explained that it hurts to sit and she spends most of the time lying on her side.
She wrote: "You're probably wondering how my body is behaving now,at 50 and pregnant— here's the truth.
"Well, there's no better sitting position than this (my butt hurts)
"All my nerves are overreacting (my arms go numb and hurt at night)
"I feel more like a baby than a pregnant woman (most of the time I behave childish, I just feel like I should be babied)
"My belly is not contracting smoothly/naturally as it should (I feel like it will burst as my bump grows). I have had bloating issues since I conceived.
"I'm always feeling hot, blood hot, like my blood is no longer at its normal temperature (having trouble falling asleep because of the heat). This is why I was thinking maybe pregnancy collided with menopause.
"All in all, my doctor says I'm okay — these are just normal complications that will be over soon.
"Meanwhile, the flutters/bubbles feel heavenly. It compensates for every struggle, takes away all the worries, and keeps us going each day. All the best to all moms, moms-to-be, and moms in the waiting."
