Tragedy averted as troops neutralize explosives planted by terrorists on Zamfara road

Troops of Sector 2, Operation FANSAN YAMMA  have recovered and neutralized explosive devices planted by terrorists to cause major havoc to commuters along  Magami - Hannutara- Dansadau  road in Maru Local Government Area of Zamfara State.

 

The Army disclosed this in a statement on Friday, October 9, 2026.

 

A cording to the statement, the troops acting on credible information secured the affected area and conducted a thorough search and identified 2 spots planted with explosive devices. 

 

Consequently an Explosive Ordnance Disposal team was subsequently  deployed to destroy one device and safely recovered and rendered another harmless.

 

The troops  have intensified patrols and surveillance in the area to safeguard residents and prevent further threats.

 

“Members of the public are urged to remain vigilant and promptly report any suspicious objects or activities to the nearest security agency,” the statement added.
