Nigerian businessman Simon Guobadia, the ex-husband of Real Housewives of Atlanta star Porsha Williams, has reportedly been indicted by federal prosecutors in Georgia over allegations of filing false tax returns.
According to court documents obtained by TMZ, Guobadia was indicted on Tuesday, October 27, on two counts of allegedly assisting in the preparation and filing of false federal tax returns.
Prosecutors allege that in March 2021, Guobadia declared zero taxable income despite knowing that his actual earnings were higher. His company, Simcol Petroleum Limited, reportedly recorded more than $45 million in gross sales during the same period.
In another filing made in July 2021, Guobadia allegedly reported taxable income of $58,231, while his company recorded nearly $31 million in gross sales.
Federal prosecutors claim the businessman knowingly provided inaccurate financial information in the tax filings.
Court records also indicate that an arrest warrant has been issued for Guobadia, although it remains unclear whether he has been taken into custody.
Guobadia married Porsha Williams in November 2022, but their marriage ended after she filed for divorce in February 2024, just 15 months later.
Their divorce attracted widespread attention, with Williams reportedly securing their multimillion-dollar Atlanta mansion and a seven-figure settlement earlier this year.
Guobadia was also deported from the United States in 2025 following immigration-related issues.
