Police nab suspected kidnapper in Kano

The Kano State Police Command has arrested a suspected kidnapper and recovered an AK-47 rifle with eighteen rounds of live ammunition in Falgore Forest, Doguwa Local Government Area.

In a statement released, the Police Public Relations Officer, CSP Abdullahi Haruna Kiyawa, said the suspect, Ibrahim Rabiu, was arrested on October 18th during a follow-up operation involving police operatives and local hunters known as Yan Bula.

The rescued victim, Alhaji Kabiru Aliyu, reportedly identified the suspect as one of his captors who guarded him at night and physically assaulted him.

The police image-maker said the suspect has been transferred to the Command’s Anti-Kidnapping Squad for further investigation, while efforts continue to arrest other fleeing suspects.
