
The Bauchi State Police Command has arrested a principal suspect, Abdulrazak Sale Kundang, three months after brutal m8rder of a 46-year-old man, Rilwanu Dauda, in Karofin Madaki.
The spokesperson for the command, SP Nafiu Habib, disclosed this in a statement on October 6, 2026.
According to the statement, Dauda was attacked and allegedly st@bbed with a knife by Sale and other members of his gang on July 5, 2026.
The victim was rushed to the hospital where he was certified d3ad by a medical doctor.
The PPRO added that efforts are ongoing to arrest other suspects still at large.
Habib further disclosed that suspects had previously been linked to a politically-motivated murder in the same area before disappearing.
“In its resilient manhunt of criminals across the State, the Bauchi State Police Command has arrested the principal suspect linked to a case of criminal conspiracy and murder in Karofin Madaki,” the statement read.
"On 5th July, 2026, at about 0930hrs, one Rilwanu Dauda 'M', 46 years old of Karofi, was attacked and fatally st@bbed with a knife by one Abdulrazak Sale alias "Abba Sale Police", 'M', 24 years old of Karofin Madaki, and his gang members.
"The victim was rushed to the Abubakar Tafawa Balewa University Teaching Hospital (ATBUTH), Bauchi, where he was certified d3ad by a medical doctor at about 1100hrs of the same day.
"Since the incident, the Command sustained unrelenting efforts and placed the fleeing suspects on its watchlist. It will be recalled that the suspects had previously been linked to a politically-motivated murder in the same area before disappearing.
"Acting on credible intelligence from a Good Samaritan, operatives attached to 'A' Division, Township, swung into action and on 5th October, 2026, exactly three months after the heinous crime, successfully arrested the principal suspect, Abdulrazak Sale Kundang.
"Effort is being intensified to arrest the remaining accomplices who are currently at large.
"The Commissioner of Police, Bauchi State Command, CP Sani-Omolori Aliyu, mni, psc(+), while commending the operatives for their professionalism and resilience, warned that no criminal will have a hiding place in Bauchi State.
“He directed that the case be thoroughly investigated and charged to court.”
