Nigerian woman calls out ex-husband, demands refund of groom price she paid
A Nigerian woman identified as Queen Raymond has called out her ex-husband and demanding a full refund of the "groom price" she claims to have paid on his head.

In a series of Facebook posts, Raymond detailed the financial dynamics of her failed marriage, alleging that she single-handedly financed their wedding, purchased a car for her ex-partner, and sponsored his education. She further claimed that she took on the entirety of their marital bills, bought him clothing, and provided him with a new phone, all while she was in a significantly better financial position than he was.

Raymond alleged that despite acting as a supportive and submissive wife, she neglected her own needs while her ex-husband heavily controlled her personal finances, noting that she required his explicit permission to buy her own clothes. She also previously claimed that she was manipulated into staying in the union through the use of charms (juju).

In a recent update published on Monday, October 26, Raymond alleged that since her departure from the marriage, her ex-husband has boasted that he could still access her whenever he chooses, regardless of whether she moves on with her life.

“It’s four years since my marriage ended and I just remembered that this stewpeeeddddd man boasted that he can come back anytime he likes to knack me whenever he so wish.. he said even in ten years to come when I must have longed moved on with someone else, He can still do it,” she wrote.

“It’s four years already, the juju wey give you this level of confidence never still gree you do am!!! Godwin return my 100k groom price!”

"The first picture is me as a married woman.. I was doing well and better financially but it wasn’t reflecting on my looks.. I literally looked beggarly and frustrated.

"Godwin has to give his permission for me to buy new clothes with my own money. I bathe with this Hausa sabulu soap and rub ori sold for 100 and yes I was earning well from my business.

"Where and who does my money go to? Godwin.. there’s no amount of money i didn’t spend to please a Youlexx narcissistic man.. from single handedly paying all the bills in the marriage, to buying him a car, sending him to school, shopping good clothing for him, cooking different meals for him with his choicest protein, getting him new phone and literally paying him to stay married to me

"Everything a man was and is supposed to do for me as a woman, I did it for  Godwin. Literally switching roles. I could afford to pay cleaners but no, Godwin insists that I cook, clean and washed his clothes and still work!

"I completely neglected myself in the marriage and focused more on pleasing a man.

"The second picture is me after divorce, i don’t earn as much as I do as I lost my business and started rebuilding myself and life back financially.. I am also single handedly raising a child yet I don’t look as horrible as I looked as a rich married woman

“Dear women, in all you do, never ever neglect yourself in the name of marriage. Pursue your dreams, invest in yourself, be intentional about your growth.”
