A Nigerian lady has accused operatives of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) of assaulting and humiliating her during an early morning operation at her residential estate.
In a video shared online, the lady claimed the incident occurred around 5:40 a.m. when she heard loud voices outside her apartment.
According to her, she stepped outside to switch on her inverter after the electricity went off and noticed two men wearing EFCC jackets standing at the estate gate.
She alleged that the officers ordered her to open the gate, but she refused, explaining that she was not the estate's security guard.
The lady claimed that two operatives subsequently jumped over the gate, seized her phone and struck her on the head.
“I was assaulted this morning by like five men. Why am I being humiliated in my own house?” she questioned.
She maintained that she had committed no offence and wondered why she was subjected to such treatment when the operatives were supposedly looking for other individuals.
Expressing frustration, she said the experience had left her feeling unsafe in her own home.
