“America trained me, but Nigeria made me” — Actress Shaffy Bello says she has no desire to leave Nigeria

Nollywood actress Shaffy Bello has revealed that she has no desire to relocate abroad, saying Nigeria remains home despite the challenges facing the country.

Speaking during a panel discussion at 20+ Years in the Media: Real Talk with Kike @7, the actress explained why she would rather remain in Nigeria despite having lived in the United States.

“America trained me, but Nigeria made me,” she said.

“I pray I never get the opportunity, as they call it, to go back. Because of the opportunities that I’ve seen in this country, and I am still seeing, I don’t ever want to go back. This is home, this is where it is.”

While acknowledging Nigeria's challenges in electricity, education and healthcare, Bello encouraged young people to identify their strengths, acquire relevant skills and take advantage of available opportunities.

“Look within yourself, what do you have to offer? What is in your hands?” she asked.

The actress also attributed her longevity in the entertainment industry to authenticity and honesty, advising young people to remain true to themselves and hold on to their faith.
