Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt's daughter Zahara legally drops father's last name

Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie’s daughter, Zahara Jolie-Pitt, has officially dropped her father’s last name after a Los Angeles judge approved her petition to legally change her name.

The 21-year-old is now officially known as Zahara Marley Jolie, according to court documents obtained by PEOPLE and other outlets.

The name change from “Zahara Marley Jolie-Pitt” was approved on September 28, 2026, after no objections were filed.

Zahara had filed the petition earlier this year, seeking to remove “Pitt” from her surname. She had already been publicly using the name Zahara Marley Jolie, including during her graduation from Spelman College in May.

She is the third of Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie’s six children to legally drop their father’s surname, following siblings Shiloh and Maddox. Vivienne has also petitioned to change her name to Vivienne Marcheline Jolie, with a court hearing scheduled for November 2.

Pitt, 62, and Angelina, 51, share six children: Maddox, 25, Pax, 22, Zahara, 21, Shiloh, 20, and 18-year-old twins Vivienne and Knox.

The couple, who met while filming Mr. & Mrs. Smith, began dating in 2005, married in 2014, and separated two years later. Their divorce was finalized in December 2024.
