A Nigerian woman, Dzeremo Bridget Timz Akeran, has issued an apology to her husband over a joke suggesting he regrets marrying her.
Dzeremo had previously shared a post stating hat her husband has expressed regret over their marriage 89 times in seven years.
"Omo! They don regret marrying me for the 89th time in 7 years,” she wrote.
However, she clarified on Sunday, November 1, 2026 that her post was misleading, reiterating that her husband is a good man and loves her deeply and has never once made her feel unwanted.
"PUBLIC APOLOGY TO MY HUSBAND AND THOSE OF YOU THAT TOOK MY JOKE FOR MY TRUE LIFE STORY. I want to sincerely apologize for a post I made earlier about my marriage,” she wrote."I made the post jokingly, without thinking deeply about how it would sound to others and most especially to my husband. But he took it seriously because marriage is not something to joke with in public."My husband is a good man and does not deserve this kind of a huge joke….he has never made me feel unwanted. He loves me and I love and respect him so much. My post was misleading and I take full responsibility for it.“I have deleted the post and i promise to be careful going forward. Please disregard it. Thank you.”
