Ex aide, Bashir Ahmad calls for arrest of Northern clergywoman for allegedly inciting Plateau youths to take up arms against their attackers

Former presidential aide Bashir Ahmad has called on security agencies to arrest a Northern clergywoman, Pastor Jemimah David, for allegedly inciting youths in Plateau State to take up arms.

Ahmad made the demand after sharing a viral video of the cleric preaching in church. He claimed she was urging the youth to arm themselves and take the law into their own hands in response to attacks.

The former aide argued that the video demands the same swift condemnation and security intervention that follows threats of violence from other regions.

He insisted that security operatives must act fast to address the clergyman's remarks in order to prevent further breakdown of law and order.

Ahmad maintained that allowing individuals to advocate for illegal weapon possession undermines national security frameworks.

He wrote

‘’Just recently, a video of a young boy surfaced on this platform, singing a song that was unanimously considered inciting. Many of us condemned the content and called on the relevant security agencies to investigate and take appropriate action.

Unfortunately, this is yet another disturbing video, this time showing Pastor Jemimah David preaching from her pulpit calling on youths in Plateau to arm themselves with knives, cutlasses and AK-47 rifles and take the law into their own hands.

I sincerely hope the relevant security agencies will take note of this video and take appropriate action in accordance with the law.''
