Smallville actor Tom Welling has joked about accidentally sharing a photograph that appeared to show his unclad reflection on Instagram.
The actor, 49, posted a picture of the New York skyline to announce his arrival for Comic-Con. Fans noticed a faint reflection of his unclad body in the glass, and the image was removed after approximately 10 hours. Welling subsequently responded to posts about the incident with laughing and heart emojis. Under a Hello Magazine post discussing his reaction, he wrote: “Not intentional, but still reflecting on it.”
His Smallville co-star Michael Rosenbaum also joined the jokes, sharing his own version of the photograph with the caption: “Just looking after my boy”. Welling attended a Comic-Con panel celebrating Smallville, which ended 15 years ago. He played Clark Kent across the superhero series’ 10 seasons until 2011.
Although he did not address the Instagram incident during the panel, Welling recalled a separate occasion when co-star John Glover asked him to sign an unclad photograph of himself. “He thought it was so cute. He [was] like: ‘Is this really you?’ I’m like: ‘Yep.’ And I signed it for him,” Welling said.
