“I'm not proud to be from Delta State. Our leaders are doing nothing” – TikTok user alleges

A Nigerian woman identified as Ogeneru Kewe has expressed outrage over alleged incidents of assault in Delta State, accusing the authorities of failing to protect women.

In a video shared on TikTok, Ogeneru said that an incident involving the sexual assault of women occurred in Ozoro a few months ago, with another similar incident allegedly taking place in the Ekpan and Effurun area last week.

According to her, those involved in the latest incident avoided publicising their actions because of the backlash that followed the previous one.

She claimed that some of the affected women have been speaking out about their experiences but have yet to receive justice.

Ogeneru also expressed concern about women's safety while travelling within the state, questioning whether they could move around without fear of being assaulted.

She criticised the Delta State governor and local government authorities, accusing them of failing to address the alleged incidents.

The woman said she could no longer proudly identify as a Delta State indigene because of the reported incidents.
