Canadian singer and television personality Keshia Chanté has publicly dismissed widespread online speculation suggesting that hip-hop artist Drake is the father of her unborn child.
The speculation materialized following Chanté's pregnancy announcement, quickly gaining momentum across anonymous posts on social media platforms.
Representatives for Drake swiftly moved to extinguish the reports, unequivocally denying the paternity claims in a statement to media outlets.
Addressing the viral commentary directly during a visit to Toronto news outlet CP24, Chanté set the record straight regarding her long-time friend."He is not the dad," Chanté stated during the broadcast.
"We were talking about it yesterday—like, 'Why is this happening?' I don't know. But no, he's not the dad." Chanté confirmed that while she and Drake share a close relationship and laughed off the situation, the actual father of her child is another public figure within the music industry with whom she is in a committed relationship.
"My son's father, I love him dearly; he's in the music industry, and he's also a public figure," Chanté said. "He's also a public figure, so I'm excited to see my son be this little musical, magical person."

The intensity of public speculation around the announcement stems in part from past high-profile controversies surrounding Drake's personal life.
Fans remain particularly reactive to unverified allegations after hip-hop rival Pusha T previously revealed the existence of Drake's son, Adonis, to the public, as well as unverified allegations raised by Kendrick Lamar on the track "Meet The Grahams" regarding a supposed secret daughter, a claim that has yielded no evidence in the years since.
