PDP chieftain, Bode George, condemns calls for Buhari’s resignation

PDP chieftain, Bode George, has condemned calls by some Nigerians, for President Buhari to resign from office because of his ill health. George in an interview with pressmen in Lagos yesterday, described the call as inhumane. According to the former South West chairman of PDP,  it is only the president and his managers who could determine if he is incapacitated and therefore should resign.
“You see, I don’t support the call by some people that the president should resign because of his health. Even though I have always been on different camps with the president, I do not think it is right for anybody to have evil thoughts towards him. He is ill and we can only wish him good health and pray for him. Calling him to resign because of this is getting beyond politics. He is a human being and only God knows the appointed time for everyone.  The holy book says we should always pray for people in authority. I think the president deserves everyone’s prayers, not comments that could even outrage some people and create unnecessary tension" he said.

He is the president of a nation and is entitled as a worker to sick leave and sick pay. So yes he does not need to resign except voluntarily or except when his sick leave expires.
Do not wish another man dead... It is not fair. Especially a good descent man like Buhari. He has done the right thing by handed over to his capable Vice President.

When I hear people make comments about the health and incapacity of the President and still maintain he shouldn't resign I just really weep for our sense of honesty, sanity and knowledge of right and wrong. With due respect to Mr Bode Gorge, Sir if you're well at home with the laws of the land you should have known that the President has been away for more than 60days cumulatively and that's the maximum period for any Public office holder to be away on sick leave, he has travelled for more than 3 times for one health issue or the other, ranging from ear problem etc, right now Nigerians do not even know what exactly is wrong with their President, there's secrecy in everything, yes he is receiving treatment in London but where in London we don't know. This kinda shit doesn't happen anywhere else but Nigeria.

Call a spade what it is, Our President is incapacitated and should resign and handover power to his vice since APC National Assembly will not impeach him. We all wish him well and quick recovery, and to be alive for his Family.

PDP Chieftain or APC Chieftain?

What a shame. He should be the one championing his resignation after more than two years of incompetency and failed agenda.

I guess he is even being more inhuman. Gosh it's only in Africa that a sitting president sees it as meanness when people thinks that his life is more important than politics. So if anything happens to him now, Bode will and co will still campaign for another person, left for me he should just rest he has tried, and at the same time my prayers are with him and family to be stronger and be positive I love Buhari biko he's a nice man. #myOneWishIsToMeetWithLinda

This man was minister or governor (can't remember which one) when I was in primary school and he was an old man then. Then we were told that the youths are the leaders of tomorrow. Now that I'm almost 40 he is yet to retire and a nonagenarian is being nominated for ambassador....
