Nollywood actress, Beverly Naya received this text message from her Uber driver after he dropped her off. Was this inappropriate or not? Read the text message after the cut...

Naija has messed a lot of graduate up, if his a Yankee Uber Driver, I'm sure u will not only post his text, u might be giving a testimony in church that u've found a Bae, Uber Driver today might be Nigeria president tomorrow. Please let's respect our own hustle.

This is not romantic biko. Get over yourself Bev

Miss Deedee said...

It's only in Nigeria people make a big deal out of nothing. Personally I feel there is nothing inappropriate about it, if he was some billionaires son will she post it and say it's inappropriate. Simple compliment that's all the guy did but then again I guess because he's uber driver and she's the great Beverly Naya quite sad

caroline said...

Not bad but inappropriate in my opinion

Anonymous said...

What is inappropriate about this oh? This looks like something she did, like a set up...

Anonymous said...

Biko, what is romantic in this? I was not with them in the car so I wouldn't know what they discussed to make him appreciate her via text. On the flip side, I think she's just trying to belittle him because he is an UBER driver. My one loonie advice, "Never underestimate the power of a determined mind" He may be your driver today and own his own cab company tomorrow. Peace out!

Beverly you know there is nothing romantic or inappropriate about this message besides commendation. I strongly believe you are doing this for attention and sincerely it's not needed.

Alice vincent Andrew said...

Yeah non official but very appropriate for a man or fan to appreciate you as a woman

Ike Louisa said...

Nothing bad about it.

Anonymous said...

So what's romantic or inappropriate about appreciating ladylike manners?

Anonymous said...

you felt disgusted bcos he is a uber driver. If your friends rich husband send it then it might be appropriate. Oloshi.

Dede said...

Very unprofessional. He would be fired in any other reasonable country.

Attention seeking is now becoming the lastest plague in the entertainment world. And to think the young man saw you as well mannered and now this?? Even if you feel its inappropriate, no need sharing. But then again, these guys love attention and acting is what they do... Who knows, She may have praised herself

NaijaDeltaBabe said...

Since he can't have her, make him kuku express himself Na.

... Merited happiness

Three things.
1. It's inappropriate, because the message is informal. Being an Uber driver, I do not think he is supposed be this informal with a client.
2. Having said 1., we all break rules once in a while; especially in this circumstance, when we meet someone we like. The lady feels this way because of the guy in question. If he was someone she admires/likes, Uber driver or not, her reaction to the text message would have been different.
3. I think it was unkind of her to make the message public. If the guy finds out and reads her opinion, he will be gutted; a sad ending to what may (or may not) be a well intentioned message.

I fink saying it's unprofessional will do.lemme assume that's wat she meant by saying inappropriate.hes jst an excited fan that has a crush on her.ntin more

Anonymous said...

Wetin dey romanctic for dis message na, he just gave sometin beta dan gold, nice words of advice

This one doesn't av sense, it inappropriate becos he's an uber driver, if a senator now it won't be...the thunder dat will far u just took an uber taxi to ur house

Anonymous said...

Completely pitiful. What a small minded person. Most Uber drivers are well educated. Some even do it just to meet pple. I do Uber too on the side. What he sent wasn't even romantic. If that's her definition of romantic then she definately needs to be contacted by longman. Shame man.. Shame..

Pinkie Winkie said...

So uber driver is not human abi. Yeye gel that's how you will loose your destined husband cos of pride

wrightabidemi1 said...

What's inappropriate about the message, he didn't say anything suggestive in it!

wrightabidemi1 said...

Madam Beverly guess you were craving attention so bad meanwhile here's somebody appreciating you something am sure your Bae rarely does, let's learn to appreciate one another without being suggestive!

ogbonna nwabueze said...

What is wrong with him driving uber,it's only in Nigeria people discriminate others because of the job he/her is doing.abroad people respect u as long as ur job pays ur bill who cares.

grace jay said...

Its inappropriate but not romantic. Its against work ethics to directly contact his client on whats not related to the ride bc that was why he got her no in the first place. Its ok to talk about it on his or beverlys social media handle . My humble opinion tho

Jossy said...

True

Anonymous said...

No mind her!

Anonymous said...

It was a simple compliment. Get on with your life... Nothing romantic there.

Anonymous said...

What courage does one really need to appreciate an LIB actress?
Haven't seen her in any movie, I only read about her here... you are the one to use your 'thinking faculty' to better understand what she tried to do by bringing this public.

Anonymous said...

Because he is uber driver u display his text to the whole world to read,it's very unfortunate that is how u celeb enter abusive marriage because of class . if this same guy go to UK or USA to become driver u will be so crazy abt him.

Ren A said...

What exactly is romantic about this message? She should check the meaning of romantic in her dictionary if she has one. The man is obviously a fan. Nothing wrong with the message and not inappropriate in the slightest bit.

Ola Dee said...

is as wrong as bank manager asking a customer for a movie date because of the account balance. Nigeria work ethics is low.

Anonymous said...

Most uber drivers are graduates with good jobs..just do uber as addition..to own 2006 cars upwards na beans?

Girl go and sleep

Anonymous said...

So, he shouldn't express how or what he feels about her again abi... Because he's not human anymore shay

okafor richard said...

Sit ur ass somwhere.....why share it on social media...WTF here in america a taxi driver can be dating a working class lady there ws nothing wrong if he feels some kinda way for her customer he is just being a man....a friend of mine once married his boss...

What is romantic about this text, me nko that uber driver from abuja started to harras me to be his sugar mommy? And i am just 30 yrs simple because i am married and because he saw i came back from europe. Na so so calls oo, i block numbers tire.

I used to like this lady until this. Now it is a crime to compliment. This guy has been humiliated for having a beautiful heart. You are so trashy Beverly. SMH. You see these girls on screen, you adore them and wonder why no one is dying over them. No virtue! Guys should stop being soft and lovely. These girls don't see hearts..they see status. Get money and don't ever fall in love with these kind woman.

public image stunt, gradually crushing too to have referred as romantic ,gathering comment to form opinion if its appropriate to do vice versa, well done babe, lol

Buoye Shola said...

What it is inappropriate about that .just because he's a taxis Driver, does that make him a lesser person.

Peter Pekis said...

Some ladies need to grow up, what is inappropriate about this??? Nigerian with their mentality

Queen said...

It's inappropriate because he took advantage of the fact that she called him with her number. Just like me being a customer care officer in the bank now taking a customer's number to call him and starts complimenting him cos he looks good or has a lot of money in his account. I could get suspended if he reports me. Even the driver knew what he did is inappropriate hence he started by saying 'don't report me'.

Debbie Edwards said...

Disgustingly inappropriate - but of course a Nigerian woman - always thirsty for attention will find nothing wrong with this.

Nigerian men and entitlement mentality. You cannot try this anywhere else- it's completely inappropriate.

Also, the Uber app does not give the driver your personal number, they can only call you via the app. The fact that this driver could message her at all means she gave him her personal number like we are used to doing with the private cab drivers.

Thunder fire you fake ass bitch. Go join the next bbn if u dey find attention......

Even bank manager can't even challenge him, oga Ade u better call him and apologized b4 it get late, that's ur husband, do u even try to listing to his words is this Gy sounding like an ilitrate? No ,madam he is not ur Uber driver,he only partner with Uber to use his cars with Uber simple. Pls use fulking head OK.

Ah you guys please leave your sensibilities and let's move forward in this dear country. This text is so inappropriate and the driver knows as much. It's inappropriate because all uber drivers sign on to a code of conduct. That code expressly states the uber driver cannot use a customers contact once that ride ends except to resolve dispute. The amount of risk we put ourselves for disclosing details of our lives to uber (including home address, phone no) makes these details a great security threat. Today he sends the message, tomorrow he could become upset for not getting a response a d attack her in her home. I have a friend who is being stalked by an uber driver and has been for months. She finally reported him when it got too much. They have since found that he used true caller to track her name down, created a fake fb account and has been sending several messages from there too. The pity in this is that a majority of you guys find this to be normal which means you all clearly have no regard for procedure and policies and will flaunt them in the name of liking a girl.
Please borrow brain asap
